I was born on April 30th 1917 in Brixen in South Tyrol. When I was 22 years old I came to Austria. I transferred from the Sparkasse in Brixen to the one in Innsbruck. There I started a new life. I was the only one in my family who opted for Germany and have never regretted it. I met my husband here. We married in 1950. He had just returned from imprisonment in Russia. He weighed 52 kilograms, just like me. We both weighed the same. We had only known each other for two months when we married. We both knew for sure.
